Nutritious Foods Ltd. has introduced a new gourmet-style instant kumara mash this month.
"A New Zealand first, possibly the world first, the new product is a shining example of Kiwi ingenuity and a result of a few years of R&D of New Zealand food specialists," said the managing director, Kenneth Wang.
Enriched with milk and natural flavour, Instant Kumara Mash tastes very nice and performs well on its own. It pairs well with other ingredients in many gourmet dishes and can easily match any of the current kumara mash recipes or replace many of the potato mashes in an existing menu.
It can add more flavour to create new dishes, be used as a garnish, be stylised, and be used for some fun and creativity.
In New Zealand, kumara is an age-old crop and has remained a firm favourite with good reason. Often called a nutritional powerhouse, it is very high in beta-carotene and contains flavonoid phenolic compounds, vitamin C, vitamin B6, dietary fibre, and potassium, among other nutrients.
