Foodstuffs North Island has welcomed Tania Rakena to the family as the newly appointed Store Manager of PAK’nSAVE Kaitaia. Rakena joins Foodstuffs with over 18 years of experience within the retail industry, with her most recent position serving as Northland Area Manager at The Warehouse.
Foodstuffs North Island, Retail Leadership Recruitment Partner, Chris McGeehan said he is delighted to have someone of Rakena’s high calibre join the Foodstuffs team. “Tania has an incredible retailing pedigree; she understands the New Zealand consumer and her people leadership and customer experience skillset will be hugely beneficial in driving team engagement."
Rakena said she was attracted by the wider career opportunities at Foodstuffs and the ability to make a real impact on the business, as well as her own self-development through the potential Owner Operator program. “I worked in the grocery industry years ago and I just loved the fast pace environment of it. When the opportunity arose to get back into the food sector, I jumped at the chance. If I had known more about the opportunities Foodstuffs offered, I probably would have made the move a lot earlier.”
Just two weeks into her new role as PAK’nSAVE Kaitaia store manager, Rakena can already see opportunities where she can add value to the store and in a way that she can better serve her community. “Working at PAK’nSAVE, there is a freedom to trade and an ability to serve your community with what they need, because every community is different, and I find that the really exciting.”
