NEW Zealand retailers and suppliers will be out in force at this year’s ANUGA food and beverage fair in Germany – the largest food industry show in the world with over 6800 international exhibitors reinforcing established products and introducing a wide range of new lines.
Despite the distance to Cologne, the show staged every second year throws up a myriad of product, some of which will appear in-store here over the next year or so as new suppliers and ideas are identified.
The show attracts retail buyers and distributors from around 100 countries and runs from October 10 – 14 combining a wide range of industry sectors – in fact there are 10 separate shows rolled into one at the massive Cologne expo site. New Zealand suppliers, mainly importers and distributors, have been attending the show for many years and 2015 is no different. More recently there has been strong retailer interest and both our major New Zealand retailers will be attending this year.
Foodstuffs Own Brand personnel have been attending the show for some years reporting that “it is a great place to visit both our international supplier base as well as a place to source new ideas for the company’s private label range."
Progressive acting general manager of merchandise, Antoine Dupont, is attending again this year as the company looks to Europe for upcoming trends and innovative products. “Anuga does showcase innovation exceptionally well and I look forward to seeing what other international retailers are buying –and why,” he said.
