Ian Mills has recently been appointed as Executive Director, Consumer Insights at Nielsen NZ. Mills joins Nielsen after two and a half years working with The Icehouse and Research first.

Working across companies including Millward Brown, Colmar Brunton, and Ipsos, Mills’ career in the insights industry spans across 25 years of experience.

Among his recent roles, Mills worked with The Icehouse where he delivered the Marketing and Brand Strategy modules of the Owner/Manager and Leadership Development programmes.

Outside of Nielsen, Mills remains an active member of the industry as a fellow of the Research Association of New Zealand.

"Companies now have access to richer data sets than ever before. It’s the ones that make decisions based on people’s motivations and behaviours that keep up with the consumer. Understanding what consumers think, and reconciling those motivations with what those consumers actually do is what Nielsen is known for. The Nielsen team is a great bunch of people and I’m looking forward to working with some of the best in the industry," said Mills.
