New Chapter For New World Gore

New World Gore Owners Tommy Glubb and Casey Hilton-Pryor

New owners take over New World Gore

After a decade of learning the ropes of running supermarkets, first as owner-operators of Four Square Spring Creek and then New World Waimate, Tommy Glubb and Casey Hilton-Pryor have just taken over New World Gore, their largest store.

"We’re really looking forward to settling into New World Gore and getting to know the locals. Taking on this new challenge in such a beautiful part of the country feels like a great next step for our family. We can’t wait to get stuck in,” said Glubb.

"We're thrilled to become part of the Southland community. We love skiing, and our kids are at the perfect age for some of the great outdoor adventures that Southland has to offer."

Southland's natural beauty and outdoor activities drew the pair closer to the region. Their children were also excited about the move, especially the prospect of a local McDonald's.

Glubb and Hilton-Pryor were used to significant transitions. Going from a Four Square to a New World was a big leap for them, but the Waimate community made it easy.

“We’re so grateful to our amazing team and the Waimate community who have supported us these past three years. We’ve loved being part of the community and always aim to replicate that sense of community and connection wherever we are,” said Hilton-Pryor.

During their time at New World Waimate, they implemented several store improvements, including introducing a click-and-collect service, upgrading shelving across the store, and opening up the entrance to make the store more welcoming.

The couple has some great ideas for New World Gore, but they will get to know the community before initiating anything big.

Hilton-Pryor said every community was unique and would spend time understanding the store's operations, working with the team, and listening to the community's needs. She added that the current owner-operators had done a fantastic job, had a great relationship and supported them in an easy transition.
