NEW ALCOHOL RULES COMING SOON

A new amendment bill improving how low-alcohol beer and wine can be sold has passed its second reading in Parliament. The rule changes would allow supermarkets and grocery stores to place low-strength wine and beer in the same area as regular alcohol. According to Justice Minister Amy Adams, the changes are common sense: as low-alcohol and non-alcoholic beer and wine alternatives are increasingly popular, enabling them to be displayed alongside regular strength alcohol will help Kiwis make better decisions.
