‘CLICK & COLLECT’ TO BOOST ONLINE SHOPPING

Countdown has just launched its own Click & Collect service. The company’s online shopping service weekly delivers over 20,000 orders to 80,000 Kiwis throughout New Zealand, but this number is set to increase significantly thanks to innovations and improved online delivery times. For $5, customers will now be able to collect their items at a time that suits them.

The online shopping service was launched for the first time in 1996, from a supermarket in South Auckland. “Countdown has a strong heritage in online shopping spanning 20 years, and we’re continuing to innovate and strengthen our offering,” said Tony Petrie, national online manager, Countdown. “Customers get the benefit of our friendly team of trained personal shoppers. It saves time, can help with budgeting and means no more stressful shopping trips with the kids in tow.”

As part of the roll-out, the company is also introducing large Click & Collect lockers in some stores, a combination of ambient and refrigerated storage spaces.
