Four-year-old Liam Parsons is the face of this year’s Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal, which aims to raise funds for 11 children’s wards in hospitals throughout New Zealand.
Young Liam’s biggest dream is to follow in his dad’s footsteps and become a policeman, but his acute asthma might put this lifetime goal at risk. As thousands of Kiwi children suffer from severe illnesses and injuries, over the past nine years the Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal has helped raise over $9.3 million to purchase much-needed medical equipment such as MRI, incubators, CT scanners and cardiac monitors. This time, the Appeal looks to raise at least $1.1 million.
To support this important cause, Kiwis can visit their local Countdown store and donate at the checkout, or purchase a Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal wristband or raffle ticket in-store, or donate while they’re doing their online shopping.
