Foodstuffs North Island is named Large Retail Employer of the Year

Foodstuffs has been named the Large Retail Employer of the Year by Retailworld New Zealand. This is the company’s first-time taking home this award, which was voted for by team members and the general public throughout the country.

Foodstuffs has been greatly expanding their employee relations and provide an extensive range of opportunities for their team members to further educate and grow within the company.

Qualifications ranging from leadership development courses to butchery and bakery apprentices are available through the company as a part of the ‘earn as you learn’ framework. Foodstuffs trade qualifications are NZQA approved and the business holds an intimate graduation ceremony to celebrate team members who have completed their studies.

Foodstuffs’ CEO Chris Quin is pleased that their company has been recognized for their intensive efforts to foster a positive work environment with impressive growth potential. “All our people are empowered to take ownership of their careers, and we see this as one of our greatest strengths,” articulated Quin. “We are looking forward to using this win to help promote retail as an exciting career path.”

Foodstuffs currently employ 22,000 people in the North Island across their support office, distribution centres, transport networks and in their respective store brands including New World, PAK’nSAVE, Gilmour’s, Four Square and Liquorland.
