Kellogg’s is excited to announce an extension of their City Mission Partnership. Over the next twelves months the breakfast food giant will be supporting the Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington City Missions with food donations to meet the growing needs of each organization.
This venture is a part of Kellogg’s pledge to donate 2.5 billion servings of cereal and snacks across the world by the end of 2025, as a part of their Breakfast for Better Days initiative.
Kellogg’s first formed their partnership with Auckland City Mission in October of 2016 and has donated over 620,000 servings of cereals and snacks through the organization. The brand has committed a further 172,000 servings of cereal to the Auckland Mission as well as funding to assist the replacements of their vans to ensure a more efficient delivery system for the Mission’s parcels. Kellogg’s will also be donating 46,000 servings to the city of Christchurch and 11,500 to Wellington within the next 12 months.
Kellogg’s New Zealand Country Manager, Ben O’Brein, has expressed his pride in the brand's new endeavours. “It’s a privilege for Kellogg’s to contribute to the work that the City Missions undertake in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. By proving these communities with breakfast cereals, we hope this will lead to more balanced diets, better energy levels and concentration throughout the morning,” said O’Brein.
Murray Edridge, Wellington City Missioner, also spoke positively about the upcoming partnership. “It is tough knowing that members of not only our city but people all across the country aren’t able to afford or provide breakfast for themselves and their families. Being able to help, even if that means providing a bowl of cereal, is a huge win, and we are grateful to have this support from Kellogg’s and their staff.”
