New Zealand’s largest girl-only organisation, GirlGuiding NZ, has launched a new fundraising drive and is asking businesses to purchase special Morning Tea Packs, which contain nearly 50 packs of biscuits. Profits from the $250 packs will support innovative programmes such as Free Being Me, an international campaign that helps young girls build self-esteem and body confidence.
“Our vision for the future is that all girls and young women in every community in New Zealand are inspired and empowered to turn their dreams into reality,” said volunteer co-lead for Free Being Me Hayley Wards. According to Susan Coleman, CEO of GirlGuiding NZ, over the past 18 months the organisation has adopted a girl-led approach, and more focus has been devoted to programmes and activities.
