TEAM EFFORT TO BEAT BOWEL CANCER

Since 2013, Bowel Cancer New Zealand has found a strong ally in CottonSofts. This year, to support BCNZ, the company has recently released 100,000 limited-edition, specially-marked packs; for every pack sold, $0.20 will be donated to BCNZ.

Seventy-five percent of cases are curable if diagnosed early,” said Kim Calvert, country manager, CottonSoft Ltd. “BCNZ is a logical partnership for our company and aligns well with the CottonSoft brand. We are passionate about educating New Zealanders and raising money to fight New Zealand’s most common cancer.”

Every month more than 100 Kiwis lose their lives to bowel cancer, and 3,000 New Zealanders are diagnosed with it each year. Unfortunately, Calvert himself is not unfamiliar with the disease. “Having a personal connection to the disease makes it closer to home. With a family history on both sides, bowel cancer has affected my life significantly,” he said.
BCNZ and CottonSofts are teaming up to help increase the survival rate.

“As a non-government charitable organisation, we rely on the pure generosity of the community to continue our work,” said Rebekah Heal, executive officer, BCNZ. “The contribution CottonSoft has made over the past three years has been a huge help for our charity in its efforts to increase the rate of bowel cancer survivors.”
