Thanks to ‘lean manufacturing’, pharmaceuticals company API Consumer Brands is keeping its costs under control so that it can continue to produce in New Zealand and use the NZ-made product branding.

“It’s very important to us that we keep NZ-made as part of our product range,” said Mitch Cuevas, general manager and director of API, in the latest FGC Leaders Series video. Besides domestic consumers, Cuevas explained that the appeal of real NZ products has proven particularly successful with the Asian market.

“This is a win for API and a win for New Zealand,” said Katherine Rich, chief executive, FGC. “It keeps jobs here, boosts export income by using Brand New Zealand as a major selling point, and builds further on our reputation for making high-quality, safe, and sustainable products.”
