L’OREAL AWARD

The inaugural L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science New Zealand Fellow was honoured at a reception in Auckland hosted by L’Oréal New Zealand’s executive general manager, Martin Smith. Dr Christina Riesselman from the University of Otago was awarded $25,000 to assist her research into rapid climate change since the last ice age. “I feel incredibly privileged to be the first L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science New Zealand Fellow,” said Dr Riesselman. “It’s a widely respected and prominent initiative in my community and I am delighted to be awarded this honour.”
