Nestlé Australia Ltd has announced the recall of select batches of ALFAMINO infant formula as a precautionary measure due to the potential presence of cereulide.
Cereulide is produced by the microorganism Bacillus cereus in one of the ingredients supplied for the batches concerned.
The recalled batches, manufactured in Switzerland, include:

The Use by date and Batch number are on the bottom of the tin. The Batch number is printed below the Use by date.
“The safety of infants is our top priority, and we apologise for any concern this may cause. This recall is a precautionary measure, in line with our strict product quality and safety protocols,” said Nestlé Health Science, General Manager, Michael Edde.
Affected products have been sold through select pharmacies and hospitals in Australia and New Zealand. Parents who have purchased any of these products should not feed them to their child and should return the product to the retailer where it was purchased for a full refund.

No other ALFAMINO batches or products in Australia or New Zealand are affected by this recall. There is no recall of NAN sold in Australia or S-26 sold in New Zealand.
