New Multi-Million-Dollar Rowville Facility to Drive Growth

AUSTRALIA | The Arnott’s Group has opened a state-of-the-art, multi-million-dollar manufacturing facility in Rowville, Victoria, marking a significant expansion in the company’s better-for-you product capabilities.

The 45,000-square-metre greenfield site will be home to Good Food Partners, the company’s better-for-you and snack foods division. As one of Australia’s largest producers of branded and private-label cereals, muesli, nutritional snacks, and bars, the facility will support brands including Freedom Cereals, Messy Monkeys, Sunsol, Heritage Mill, Arnold’s Farm, Arnott’s Treatles, and Sam’s Pantry.

Arnott’s Group CEO George Zoghbi said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to local manufacturing and innovation. The new Rowville facility will ensure continued product innovation and the ability to respond to emerging consumer trends. With Australian consumers increasingly seeking nutritious snacking options that deliver on both taste and quality, the facility will provide the manufacturing capabilities needed to grow the better-for-you portfolio and expand supermarket offerings.

The facility features three dedicated manufacturing zones, including an allergen-free and extruded products area, an R&D culinary centre, and two logistics warehouses. With a production capacity of 180 million muesli and protein bars, 40 million oat sachets, and enough muesli to fill 300 million breakfast bowls annually, the site is set to play a key role in Arnott’s growth strategy.

Good Food Partners Managing Director Chris Diver said the facility is designed to support long-term expansion. The site offers significant capability, capacity, and flexibility to grow the business. While similar facilities typically take five years to build, this one was completed in less than two.

The official opening was attended by Victorian Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing Colin Brooks, alongside state and federal representatives, including Member for Aston Mary Doyle, Member for Rowville Kim Wells, and Members for South-Eastern Metropolitan Michael Galea and Lee Tarlamis. Elder Mark Brown from the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation also participated in the event.

Arnott’s expansion into the cereals and snack bar segment began with the acquisition of Freedom Foods from Noumi in 2020, followed by Diver Foods in 2021. In November last year, the company strengthened its better-for-you portfolio with the acquisition of Mother Earth, Flemings, and VP from New Zealand-based Prolife Foods Ltd.

The new facility underscores Arnott’s confidence in the continued growth of the better-for-you segment and its commitment to delivering high-quality, locally made products to consumers.
