Work on the upgrade to New World Pioneer is expected to start this week, as Foodstuffs North Island Ltd announced. The store, located in Palmerston North, will get a makeover both inside and out: the exterior is going to be repainted, whilst improvements within the outlet will include a modernised entrance area, wider aisles and an increased fresh foods offer, as well as a renovated café.
During the upgrade the store will remain open.
Meanwhile, construction of the new Te Kuiti store is set to start on Monday 19 October. “The current New World in Te Kuiti has served the community incredibly well for over 50 years, but it is now time for a new store” said Angela Bull, general manager property development of Foodstuffs North Island. The state-of-the-art outlet should be opened in the third quarter of 2016, covering an area of 2,470 sqm that will include 141 car parks.
