INVISIBLE TRACER TO PREVENT COUNTERFEIT WINE

Australian product authentication company YPB Group Ltd has developed a hi-tech product to prevent counterfeit wine, namely an invisible tracer mixed with paint, plastics or ink that can be applied to bottle closures, corks or labels.

The innovation aims to tackle China’s growing trend of counterfeit wine, which according to some analysts accounts for more than half of $35+ wine bottles sold in Asia.

YPB’s end-to-end solution connects brand owners with their consumers through a combination of invisible tracing technology and QR codes. Made from unique inorganic materials, the tracer cannot be destroyed or copied. Visible only through affordable and simple-to-use readers, it can be incorporated into nearly any material to protect several kinds of foods such as wine, food and apparel.
