TIMARU FAMILY WON $7 MILLION AT PAK’NSAVE

Bought at Timaru PAK’nSAVE last Saturday, one fortunate ticket truly marked a turning point for a local family, as they prepare to receive their $7 million Powerball win from Auckland Lotto NZ head office.
It was not until they stumbled upon a Facebook post, stating that someone in Timaru had become a multi-millionaire, that the lucky winners began checking their numbers. Obviously, they could not believe their eyes, so they checked that same ticket over and over again, hundred of times, shaky and unable to sleep.
Now that all doubts have been put to rest, it is time to come up with a plan, provided that it remains secret. They prefer not to tell how they intend to use the money, nor whether they will quit their jobs or not. In truth, they do not plan to tell anyone outside their own family.
It is likely to be the best choice. According to Graeme Ramsay, chief executive, Problem Gambling Foundation, lottery winners often face problems and completely new hurdles, ending up spending more than they earned, surrounded by people eager to befriend them for ulterior motives.
