Whittakers Announces new time travelling campaign

Whittakers announced a new brand campaign that features renowned Kiwi actor Karl Urban and pays homage to its values as a family-owned, proudly New Zealand chocolate maker. Urban features in the campaign as J.H. Whittaker, who is visiting from the past in a Victorian-inspired chocolate time machine.

The campaign is a significant milestone for Whittaker’s after working with brand ambassador Nigella Lawson for nearly a decade. 

“We loved working with Nigella for all those years and she has been instrumental in building our brand based on our unrelenting commitment to quality. We’re pleased that she remains a passionate Whittaker’s Chocolate Lover, but we’re also very excited about our new chapter.” Said Holly Whittaker, Co-Chief Operating Officer. 

Hoping to reinforce the brand's confidence in its past and future, the campaign involved a large team of locals to bring it to life. It included Director Peter Burger, Waitemata Film Company, MBM for creative and marketing, AKQA for digital and Human Dynamo, a creative company that made the chocolate time machine.

Karl Urban is delighted to bring the character of time-travelling J.H. Whittaker to life on the screen.
