Two Auckland Countdowns Damaged in Torrential Rain

After torrential rain hit the city, two Countdown supermarkets in Auckland have been damaged.

A manager at Point Chevalier Countdown confirmed part of its roof collapsed on Tuesday morning. Another store in Glenfield also suffered damage to its roof. The supermarket was closed as staff clean the store and assess the damage.

A national Countdown spokeswoman said the very heavy rainfall and flooding around Auckland had impacted a number of stores. No staff or customers were injured and the other stores were expected to reopen later in the day.
