Kiwi Love For Tasti

Kiwi bird on 7 Packs of Tasti nut bars

Tasti is a kiwi owned and operated family business, that is giving directly back to kiwis. Kiwi birds to be more specific. For the first time, 20 cents from every Tasti Nut Bar pack purchased will be donated directly to The Forest Lifeforce Restoration Trust.

The Forest Lifeforce Restoration Trust is a conservation organisation that was founded by Tasti owner Simon Hall over a decade ago. His desire to protect our precious native species led him to purchase 6,120 hectares of native forest in Hawkes Bay. Maungataniwha (The name of the remote block of land), is home to the North Island brown kiwi, whio, long and short-tailed bats, kaka, kereru, bush falcon, forest gecko, and several threatened native plants. The trust has since grown and now owns three properties on the North Island, one on the South Island and one on Stewart Island.

The trust has been primarily funded by Tasti, with over $10 million worth of donations from the company over the last fifteen years. It is run by a volunteer program, with over 100 employees donating their time. Tasti is looking forward to giving New Zealanders a greater opportunity to give back. The funds raised from Tasti Nut Bar sales will go directly to kiwi conservation and restoration of the forest lifeforce. The trust already has 94 kiwi chicks due to be released this year and they are excited to "Grow this important conservation and restoration work," said Simon Hall.
