Two West Auckland supermarkets, a Supervalue and a New World store, have been ram raided on the same night and police are looking for the culprits. The thieves used a stolen white station wagon to smash into both stores, but failed to access the locked cigarette shelves they were targeting. The car was later found.
Apparently, passers-by have seen three people in high-vis vests hanging around the Supervalue, and noticed that the front door was off its hinges. An investigation is ongoing.
