AUSTRALIA | Christmas hams have officially hit shelves, with Woolworths announcing the return of its award-winning Australian Half Leg Ham.
Keeping the price at AUD 8 per kilo for the Christmas season for the fourth consecutive year, this matches the price Woolworths sold the Christmas Half Leg Ham for in 2014, showing the supermarket’s commitment to keeping Christmas product prices affordable to help customers plan their festive budgets.
Woolworths' complete holiday ham range includes 14 varieties designed to cater to different household sizes, budgets, and tastes.
“We know that ham is one of the most popular Christmas products on Aussie dinner tables, not just for the main feast, but for all those leftover toasties and salads throughout the festive week,” said Annette Karantoni, Managing Director for Woolworths Retail.
“With cost-of-living top of mind for so many families, getting quality Aussie products at a great price matters more than ever. By keeping our Australian Half Leg Ham at $8 per kilo for the fourth Christmas in a row, our customers can enjoy their holiday traditions without stretching their Christmas budget.”
She added that Woolworths has helped hosts take shortcut options without compromising on quality, introducing exciting new flavours like Australian apple cider and honey glazes, alongside pre-sliced and bake-in-tray cuts that add convenience in the kitchen so families can focus on enjoying the day.
This year's new highlight is the Apple Cider and Honey Glazed Ham. This boneless ham is infused with a locally sourced Tasmanian apple cider from Willie Smith, delicately smoked over mountain ash wood, and finished with a honey glaze, dried apple slices, and fresh rosemary.
For other quick festive meals, the range also features the Glaze and Bake Leg Ham (840g), available in two varieties, Honey, Fig and Rosemary Glaze, and Davidson Plum and Honey Glaze, and ready to serve in up to 60 minutes in an oven-ready tray. The Australian Davidson Plum puree and Australian honey are sourced from local producers in the Northern Regions of New South Wales.
The range also offers premium options, including the Triple Smoked Free Range Half Leg Ham, a gold medal winner at the 2025 Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards, naturally smoked with karri wood chips. For smaller gatherings, the Double Smoked Quarter Leg Ham delivers a rich, full flavour smoked over mountain ash wood.
Over the season, Woolworths expects to sell around 1.2 million ham products, or more than 4.3 million kilos. Of this, more than 650,000 are Half Leg Hams.
The Woolworths Christmas ham range will be available in stores and online from the 22nd of October through to Christmas Day.
