Woolworths Brings Shopping Convenience To Adelaide

AUSTRALIA | Woolworths has unveiled Adelaide’s first new multi-million dollar online CFC in Keswick to serve the growing demand for online shopping.

The Adelaide CFC spans 9,500 square metres, allowing team members to pick orders from over 25,000 products.

To keep up with customer demand for online delivery services, the CFC will double delivery capacity across Greater Adelaide. Stores will continue to manage Pick-Up and On-Demand orders through Direct To Boot Now and MILKRUN.

"When it comes to grocery shopping, customers are more and more looking for speed and convenience. Over the past four years, our online deliveries have expanded at an average rate of 20 per cent per annum, and we see this continuing,” said Amitabh Mall, Managing Director for eComX at Woolworths Group.

“With the Adelaide CFC, our seventh nationally, we're investing to meet that demand. It will increase online capacity by 15,000 orders a week and allow us to offer same-day and next-day delivery across 130 postcodes across the Adelaide area, spanning over 3,0000 square kilometres."

Customers have the option to use Direct-to-Boot services, with 12 bays available - the largest Direct-to-Boot offering in South Australia - providing even more flexible and convenient shopping options for those looking to pick up their groceries to and from work.

“Thanks to the brand new centre, alongside our hard-working, newly formed team, we’ll be able to significantly boost our order picking speed and accuracy - particularly during the busiest time of the year by picking and packing nine orders at a time,” said Woolworths’ Adelaide Central Customer Fulfilment Centre Manager, Luke Oliver.

“Customers can also enjoy the freshest baked goods throughout the day, thanks to our on-site production bakery operating twice daily, plus a full deli service featuring cold cuts and more.”

From December, proudly joining the Woolworths Adelaide CFC team are over 30 First Nations team members, alongside over 30 refugee employees.

The new site marks a significant shift in how Woolworths delivers groceries, highlighting the way technology and people work together to enhance the online shopping experience for customers across South West Adelaide.

Woolworths commenced construction of Adelaide CFC in 2024 and now operates seven Customer Fulfilment Centres across the country.
