AUSTRALIA | Woolworths will be lowering the shelf price of hundreds of everyday essentials and family favourites in-store and online.
From Wednesday, the 14th of May, shelf prices will be lowered on almost 400 popular products from Woolworths' quality own-brand range and many customer-favourite branded products. The shelf price of included products will fall by an average of 10 percent.
Families spending AUD 150 on their weekly shop could now save around AUD 15 a week when buying Lower Shelf Price products.
The significant investment in lowering shelf prices is just the start of Woolworths' commitment to bringing more dependable value to shoppers’ baskets. In the coming weeks and months, hundreds more products will have lower shelf prices, which will remain at the new Lower Shelf Price until 2026.
“We know that managing household budgets continues to be challenging for our customers. Customers consistently tell us they need more value from their shop and expect us to do more to help,” said Woolworths Group CEO Amanda Bardwell.
“Today marks the start of a real, tangible change customers will see on the shelf prices of hundreds of products when they shop with us, both in-store and online. And it’s just the beginning.”
Bardwell added that this was not just a short-term promotion; it's about lower shelf prices on the products customers regularly shop for and providing genuine, lasting, dependable value they can count on.
“We've focused on highly rated family favourites – things like Greek Yoghurt, Frozen Berries, Chicken Schnitzel as well as essentials including flour, bread, rice and nappies. Individually, each lower shelf price might not seem like a dramatic difference, but they will add up to real savings.”
Woolworths is committed to expanding the Lower Shelf Price product list in the coming weeks and months to help provide customers with even more value every time they shop with us.
Products with Lower Shelf Prices will still be eligible to be part of Woolworths' weekly specials program.
Other ways customers can find great value at Woolworths include:
- Saving 30 percent on average by opting for Woolworths own brand products instead of similar branded products.
- Shopping The Odd Bunch range, which offers another way to save at least 20 per cent on fruit and vegetables that are slightly odd, but still great quality, while also supporting Australian farmers who are able to sell more of their produce.
- Using Woolworths online tools, including the Best Unit Price filter, which helps customers sort products by lowest unit price.
- Scanning and boosting Everyday Rewards, with members collecting on average AUD 150 of Everyday Rewards points every year.
