UK | Aldi has extended its partnership with condiment connoisseurs Sauce Shop to launch a daring new Christmas sauce.
This one-of-a-kind sauce has combined Brussels sprout, kimchi, green jalapeños and festive spices for a tangy, fiery kick that has promised to take festive meals to new heights.
The launch will be good news to shoppers in East England. Aldi said the region was the UK’s sprout capital, accounting for 11 percent of Brussels sprout sales in 2023.
“Our latest collaboration with Sauce Shop might be our most controversial yet. Love them or hate them, we’re confident this unique hot sauce will win over even the most sprout-averse,” said Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK.
James and Pam Digva, husband and wife and founders of Sauce Shop, dreamt up their latest creation after experimenting with fermenting Brussels sprouts at home.
“We’ve applied our passion for fermentation to something unexpected — Brussels sprouts,” said Pam Digva, Co-Owner of Sauce Shop.
“Our limited-edition hot sauce, made exclusively for Aldi, showcases the versatility of this superfood veggie. Drizzle it over your Christmas dinner, spice up your Boxing Day sandwich or even add a kick to a turkey noodle stir-fry; the possibilities are endless.”
Also landing on shelves this festive season is the Sauce Shop x Aldi Spiced Cranberry Hot Honey Sauce, a delicious twist on Sauce Shop’s best-selling Honey Sriracha Drizzle.
This spicy concoction has a blend of warm mulled wine spices with sweet honey and tangy cranberry for an irresistible flavour combination. It is also on trend, as #hothoney has continued to gain traction with almost a billion views on TikTok.
The Aldi x Sauce Shop Christmas Sauces will be available exclusively in Aldi stores starting on the 28th of November.
