A special edition 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, celebrating the upcoming 100th anniversary of Hawke’s Bay’s Babich Wines, is now on the market at $399 for a 750ml bottle and $999 for a 1500ml Magnum. Made from hand-picked grapes and aged in French oak barriques, it is the most exclusive wine ever launched by the brand, with a limited release of only 100 Magnums and 330 regular bottles.
Encased in a designer box, each bottle comes with a high-end, hand-waxed cork and a certificate signed by Joe Babich himself.
“We needed a very special wine to celebrate 100 years of family winemaking,” Babich said. “Therefore, when 2013 proved to be such an incredible vintage, and the Cabernet Sauvignon from our Gimblett Rd vineyard was so outstanding, it was decided to put a small parcel of these grapes aside.”
