Established in 2004, Carrello del Gelato is New Zealand’s premium gelato provider. We have an unrivalled track record in delivering the highest quality and most authentic gelato in the country.
In ten years, our production has grown from 20 litres per week to up to 1500 litres per week, making us one of the largest independent gelato makers in New Zealand. We also offer traditional Italian style gelato carts for hire, which add fun and sophistication to any event, and have been attending events around the Wellington region since 2004.
We produce over 100 delicious flavours, sourcing only the finest natural ingredients from New Zealand and around the world. We supply over 100 leading New Zealand cafes, restaurants and food outlet stores. We are registered as an approved supplier to New World supermarkets and, with more discussions under way with nationwide chains, Carrello del Gelato will soon be a household brand.
Our expertise allows us to craft gelato flavours at our clients’ request, successfully creating innovative flavours that may have otherwise remained undiscovered. We produce a range of retail products for people to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes from single serve 125 ml tubs to 1 litre tubs, as well as 5 litre tubs for food service. We have also recently introduced a range of gelato cookie sandwiches.
Our sorbetto is all gluten, dairy & egg-free, and the majority of our gelato is gluten-free and egg-free. We also produce a white sugar-free range using coconut sugar & honey.
In 2015 we launched our flagship retail store in Oriental Parade. Here, we offer a 16 flavours (changing daily) by the scoop, pre-packaged gelato & sorbet in 125ml, 500ml & 1litre cartons. WE also offer traditional Italian-style pizza along with our ice-block range Mr Pops, gelato cookie sandwiches and a range of sorbets.
We host gelato classes both for adults and children every few months and are increasing the frequency as the demand grows. We are always looking to expand the business and are constantly picking up new customers.
Our products are available throughout the country as well as in selected outlets in Singapore. We supply many New World supermarkets, Mediterranean Food Warehouse, cinemas, and hundreds of restaurants & cafes up and down the country. We are always looking to expand our availability.
