AUSTRALIA | ALDI is donating essential groceries and supporting the Foodbank disaster appeal through customer till donations to help those in need.
ALDI Australia is supporting communities who have been impacted by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred by donating up to AUD 150,000 worth of food and essential items to its national food charity partner, Foodbank.
The supermarket is also accepting customer donations of AUD two or more towards the Foodbank appeal, which can be made at cash registers in ALDI stores across the country from the 11th of March until the end of the month.
Funds raised by ALDI shoppers in-store will be matched by ALDI (up to AUD 100,000) and will go towards supporting Australians that need it most following the recent weather events in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
The move formed part of ALDI’s community support programs and the commitment to helping reduce food insecurity by giving surplus food from its stores and distribution centres to Australians struggling to feed their families in their local communities.
Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, providing food and groceries to charities and school breakfast programmes in every state and territory. As a proud member of the Global Foodbanking Network, it has been dedicated to developing foodbanking worldwide.
