UK | Aldi UK will be opening a new store every week throughout September, creating up to 120 new jobs across the four locations.
After opening its new Balsall Common store near Solihull, Aldi will open three more stores this month in Telford (Shropshire), Rayleigh (Essex) and Hoxton (East London), with up to 30 roles available at each location.
The openings form part of Aldi UK's GBP 370 million investment in new stores this year and its long-term ambition to operate 1,500 stores across the UK. The investment will support a wide-ranging programme of improvements, including store extensions and enhancement upgrades.
Changes will vary by location but will include creating more shopping space and introducing more sustainable features. These include energy-efficient technologies, such as fridge doors that reduce energy use and natural refrigerants that help cut carbon emissions.
Further improvements include updated fixtures and signage, as well as redesigned store layouts.
“We know there are still communities across the country that want access to an Aldi store, and we’re working hard to bring our unbeatable value to more of them,” said Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK.
“Opening a new store every week throughout September demonstrates the pace of our expansion, while creating new jobs and bringing high-quality, affordable food to even more shoppers.”
Aldi UK stores opening this September are:
- Kenilworth Road, Balsall Common – 3rd
- Waterloo Road, Ketley Point, Telford – 10th
- Weir Retail Park, Rayleigh – 17th
- Hackney Road, Hoxton – 24th
