Christchurch organic chocolate maker Bennetto Natural Foods spent years developing a plant-based mylk chocolate it was willing to put its name to. The new Creamy range is the result.
Bennetto’s new signature mylk base is made from rice and whole hazelnuts ground into a butter. The result is toasty and smooth, with the hazelnut and cocoa aromas lifting each other. It is still unmistakably Bennetto, just a little sweeter and creamier.
The range launches with three 75g bars:
- Creamy Classic: deliciously smooth organic mylk chocolate.

- Creamy Strawberry: smooth mylk chocolate with sweet strawberry pieces.

- Caramel Almond Brittle: crunchy caramel almond pieces in creamy mylk chocolate.

Like the rest of the Bennetto range, every bar is certified organic, Fairtrade, and plant-based, and comes from a B Corp-certified, New Zealand-owned business.
“We’ve never compromised on ingredients,” said founder Lucy Bennetto.
“We don’t want it to be chocolate people choose because they feel they should eat cleaner. We want it to be chocolate they choose because it tastes good, and we believe we’ve achieved that.”
For retailers, that makes Creamy a premium bar with broad appeal. It gives plant-based and dairy-free shoppers a genuine treat, and it holds its own with milk chocolate lovers and ethically minded shoppers too.
