RUBY HEADS TO ITALY

Nestlé Italiana has released a new limited edition Baci Perugina ruby chocolate into the Italian market. The chocolate, discovered and created by Swiss chocolatier Barry Callebaut, is derived from the ruby chocolate cocoa bean which has a natural pink colour and fruity taste. The Baci Perugina chocolate will have the same gianduia filling and hazelnut crunch as its dark chocolate and milk chocolate variants with the addition of a ruby chocolate coating.

A statement released by Nestlé said that “the new Baci Perugina Limited Edition is the latest innovation from Nestlé that is set to drive trends and use innovation to bring new, exciting products to people everywhere.”

Italy is only the third county to receive the mysterious ruby chocolate. The ruby chocolate was first made commercially available in Japan with the launch of the ruby KitKat which was then released in the UK.
