GOING BACK TO GLASS

Happy Baby Organics has relaunched with new glass jar packaging. The organic baby food company redesigned its packaging to feature the glass jar as a way of making its organic baby food more readily available to low-income parents.

Glass jars comprising of organic baby food are on a limited list of packaging formats approved by the WIC’s (Women, Infants and Children) Special Supplement Nutrition Program, which means that they can be subsidised for low-income families.

The jars also provide a clear view of the product for parents. With clear transparent labels, the baby food inside is noticeably visible for parents, while the jars lids offer “superior tamper resistance” and are an excellent oxygen barrier.

The current range, which is available for purchase in 4-oz glass jars in the US, comprises of ten flavours such as Sweet Potatoes, Bananas and Strawberries, and Pears and Kale.

America’s WIC program is a federal assistance program targeted towards low-income pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children under five. The program aims to provide those in need with nutritional benefits that they may otherwise lack because of their financial situation. Under the programme; formula, supplemental food, breastfeeding services, nutritional education and healthcare access is available.
