Kerbside Temperature Controlled Grocery Delivery Carts

Trade Grocery

BrightDrop has unveiled Trace Grocery, a temperature-controlled eCart designed to streamline online ordering processes by functioning inside and outside grocery stores. Kroger, the USA’s largest grocer, is set to be the first customer of the new technology.

“COVID has driven a dramatic increase in online grocery shopping, and fulfilling these orders profitably has become a major challenge for retailers of all sizes. With Trace Grocery, we saw an opportunity to help companies like Kroger tackle these challenges head-on. As online shopping continues to grow, BrightDrop is committed to developing innovative solutions to help our customers keep pace. The Trace Grocery is a perfect example of this,” said Travis Katz, BrightDrop President and CEO.

Trade Grocery helps streamline online order fulfilment by allowing employees to put orders directly into the unit before stationing it curbside for customer retrieval. Access to the unit is given by digital verification. Other features of the cart include:

  • Temperature management to store items for up to four hours
  • Propulsion assistance to move up to 350 pounds of groceries
  • Auto breaking that has the electric motor match operator walking speed
  • Nine compartments to segment products by order, temperature and product type
  • Weatherproofing
  • Easy manoeuvring both inside and outside of stores
