Morrisons is embarking on the search for its next national charity partner, with the application window closing on Sunday, February 29th. The selected charity will join Morrisons for a three-year partnership on October 28th, 2024.
With a history of impactful fundraising collaborations, Morrisons raised over £7 million for Sue Ryder (2014-2017) and achieved £18.4 million for Young Lives vs Cancer during its award-winning five-year partnership (2017-2022). The ongoing partnership with Together for Short Lives, set to surpass its £10 million target by October 2024, supports the UK's 54 children's hospices, creating precious memories for families.
Colleague-led fundraising activities contribute significantly, including collections, appeals, and challenge events across supermarkets and convenience stores. The Every Pack Gives Back cause-related marketing programme collaborates with various brands, donating a percentage of sales throughout the year.
Prospective charities are required to demonstrate ideas for a national partnership with a local touch, engaging colleagues and customers in the communities Morrisons serves. The funds raised will be allocated to both new projects and existing core services.
Holli Kellett, Morrisons Charity Specialist, shared Morrisons' commitment to supporting good causes and highlighted the pride in past charity partnerships. The ongoing collaboration with Together for Short Lives is progressing towards exceeding the £10 million target by October 2024.
Morrisons' primary charity partnership complements its broader support for various charities and causes. Annually, the Morrisons Foundation grants over £2 million to registered charities, matching colleague fundraising. In 2023, colleagues and customers raised funds for Marie Curie's Daffodil Appeal, Alzheimer's Society's Forget Me Not Appeal, and the Poppy Appeal. Morrisons is also an emergency response partner for The Disasters Emergency Committee, aiding humanitarian crises. Community Champions in supermarkets actively raise funds for local charities, tackle food poverty, and contribute to community well-being year-round.
