UK retailer, Sainsbury’s opened a meat-free butchery in celebration of World Meat-Free Week. The butchers is styled in a traditional format and offers customers an array of plant-based meat alternatives. Customers will be able to find cuts of ‘meat’ made from mushrooms and sausages made from pea protein.
Sainsbury’s says that it has seen a 65 percent increase in the demand for plant-based products with sales having doubled this year compared to last year.
