Over the past years, vegetarian and vegan options have successfully established themselves in the sweets and snack segment, and a large selection of those products will be on display at the 47th ISM, to be held in Cologne, Germany, from 29 January to 1 February.
Figures are on the rise in several countries including Germany, Belgium, Austria, the USA and of course India, where the number of vegetarians is traditionally high, between 20 and 40 percent of the population.
Over 1,600 suppliers and 290 exhibitors will be presenting vegetarian products at ISM, with 230 exhibitors also offering vegan products. This represents a substantial increase compared with last year, when 160 exhibitors showcased their vegetarian products and 113 exhibitors vegan products.
