This Spring, Woolworths Australia wants customers to spend less with them by taking advantage of specials and Prices Dropped and Low Price programs.
From Wednesday, 23 August, until 28 November 2023, Woolworths will drop the prices of more than 450 products as part of its seasonal Prices Dropped for the Spring program.
Overall, the total saving across the basket of Price Dropped products is AU$ 615, or an average of 17 percent less.
Woolworths Supermarkets managing director Natalie Davis said the retailer knows people are looking at every way to save right now, and Woolworths was encouraging customers to spend less.
"Our research shows that customers use more hacks to save on grocery shops. Buying products on special is at the top of the list, with meal planning not far behind," explained Davis.
"With this in mind, we looked at how we could create healthier meal ideas, including affordable lamb roast, weekday dinners and healthier lunchbox snacks kids will love."
As part of the Prices Dropped program, Woolworths has curated the products into meal ideas to help make it easier for customers to plan budget-friendly meals for their families.
Customers can also take advantage of great value on seasonal vegetables right now, such as zucchini, capsicum and broccoli, with most vegetables around 20 per cent cheaper than a year ago (based on data from July 2022 versus July 2023)
Woolworths Supermarkets and Metro stores will also introduce in-store Member Prices for Everyday Rewards members this Wednesday. Member offers this week (from Wednesday) include any three Greenseas Tuna 95g range for AU$4.50 (normally AU$2.60 each) and any two Woolworths Snack Pots (120-225g) for AU$10 (usually AU$7 each).
This follows the Woolworths Group announcement last week that it will donate the equivalent of 13 million meals to partners in Australia, including OzHarvest, Foodbank and Fareshare. The meals are in addition to the equivalent of 28 million meals created in Australia through Woolworths' food diversion initiatives over the past year, which see excess edible food from Woolworths collected by food relief partners.
Davis advised customers to look for 'Low Price' labelled products and Woolworth's own-brand products.
"Customers can use over 3,000 Low Price products, including Woolworths' vast range of high-quality Own and Exclusive Brand products, to help their shops go further."
She continued that customers can save at least 20 percent on great fruit and vegetables with the Odd Bunch range compared to Woolworth's standard shelf prices of conventional fruit and vegetables.
As supply has improved, some vegetables are in deflation, cheaper than they were at the same time last year. Davis said customers should watch for great weekly fresh specials on a range of fruit and vegetables to help save this spring, including great prices on in-season strawberries.
