M&S Kingston Park Store Transformation

M&S Kingston Park Store Transformation

UK | M&S Kingston Park has re-opened as a transformed fresh market-style foodhall, following a two-month closure while work took place.

The 16.8k sq ft foodhall is bigger than the previous food offer in the store, with the full M&S Food range now available and some exciting new features for customers to enjoy.

A showstopping new in-store bakery & coffee counter, almost triple the size of the previous in-store bakery, offers a range of baked bread, including M&S’s popular Collection Sourdough, pastries and treats such as viral Chunked ‘n’ Loaded cookies, available in Raspberry Cheesecake, Chocolate & Hazelnut and flavour of the year, Pistachio.

At the coffee counter, customers can find barista-made takeaway coffee, alongside a range of hot and iced drinks to enjoy while browsing.

Elsewhere, a brand-new produce section offers more fruit and vegetables from M&S’ Select Farm partners (over 300 of which are based in the North East) and a rotating menu of Fresh Market seasonal specials.

Dedicated Flower and Wine shops showcase the best of M&S’s award-winning wine collections and the retailer’s brand-new British-grown speciality sunflowers.

Throughout the store, customers can find M&S’ Remarksable Value range of over 100 everyday essentials, price benchmarked against key competitors and family-friendly Bigger Pack Better Value choices - recently increased by a third to over 100 products.

For those looking to try something new this Summer, there are 450 new and upgraded products to choose from. From Topped Chicken Shawarma Dip - inspired by M&S’ Collection Master Grill chicken shawarma - to Our Best Ever Posh Dogs, perfect for the BBQ and Cracked Shell Chocolate Sauce, which hardens when drizzled on ice cream, for a true taste of childhood summer memories.

The store opened with Store Manager Paula Docherty cutting the ribbon to declare the store officially re-open alongside colleagues.

Docherty, who leads the 79-strong store team, joined M&S at 16 years old straight from school and has been with the business for 29 years.

“I’m so excited to welcome customers back into store. Thanks to everyone for their patience while work took place and it will be a real surprise walking through the doors – the store looks and feels completely different. We couldn’t be happier with the changes which make shopping here so much better.”

M&S Kingston Park is one of 12 M&S stores across the UK set to be renewed this year to ensure each offers the best possible shopping experience, alongside 16 new store openings and nine extensions, backed by a GBP 300m investment. M&S has 20 stores across the North East, where it employs over 1,900 colleagues.
