UK | M&S Orpington has revealed its brand-new look, helped by M&S Food Ambassador Tom Allen, following a three-month transformation and extension.
Allen joined store colleagues and Store Manager Edward Lipscombe to cut the ribbon and officially welcome customers back to the store.
The 37.7k sq ft full-line store is 72 percent bigger than before, offering even more M&S products for customers and was temporarily closed back in May to allow work to take place. Now, there are plenty of exciting new changes for customers to explore.
Over in the fresh market-style foodhall, a showstopping new in-store bakery & coffee counter has launched, offering a range of baked bread and pastries, including M&S’ popular Collection Sourdough, made through a traditional 30-hour process.
Customers can also grab a barista-made coffee or iced drink to enjoy while browsing.
There is even more fresh produce to shop from M&S’ Select Farm partners, a cheese barge and dedicated Flower and Wine shops with the best of British summer blooms and award-winning M&S wines.
Across the foodhall, customers can find 450 new and upgraded M&S Food products this Summer alongside Remarksable Value and Bigger Pack Better Value choices.
In fashion and beauty, customers have two floors to browse Womenswear, Menswear and Kidswear, alongside a Click & Collect point for online orders. M&S’ popular Apothecary range is also a must-visit in the beauty hall.
For families already thinking about Back to School, M&S has held prices on its school uniform for the fifth year in a row, also becoming the first UK high street retailer to offer a one-year guarantee on all kids clothing.
Edwards Lipscombe, Store Manager at M&S Orpington leads the over 170-strong team.
“It’s been such a fantastic morning and we have been so excited to show customers what the store looks like now,” said Lipscombe.
“Having Tom Allen join us has given the whole team a massive boost and I want to say a big thank you to our customers for their patience over the last three months – we are so excited to welcome you back.”
M&S Orpington is one of eleven Greater London M&S stores being renewed this financial year, backed by a GBP 90m investment, also including six new openings in the capital.
