Small-volume beverage companies have a new tool on their side. US leading supplier of flexible packaging Amcor Rigid Plastics has launched UpStart, a business platform to help them in their small-volume production with PET bottles. Firms that want to launch their products at lower volumes can now access Amcor’s injection molding and blow molding facilities in the US.
According to Michael Hodges, director of communications at Amcor Rigid Plastics, UpStart was launched to meet the demand of a consumer-oriented beverage market, allowing firms to reach the market they want at a lower cost, working with high-volume suppliers.
“Our customers needed the ability to introduce smaller, more customised brands. We felt we needed to assist with their efforts, so the genesis of the program to focus resources and capital into a smaller volume system was started,” Hodges said.
