GROCERY SHOPPING 3 PERCENT CHEAPER LAST YEAR

Grocery shopping got 3 percent cheaper last year, due to lower prices for bread, cereals and some dairy products, such as fresh milk (-14 percent). It has been the largest annual fall since 2012.
Chicken prices have fallen to the lowest level since January 2008, and the overall cost of meat, fish and poultry decreased 3.8 percent.
Fruit prices, on the other hand, were up 5.1 percent (1.5 percent after adjusting for seasonal effects). The highest increases came from avocados and bananas.
While non-alcoholic beverage prices dropped 2.3 percent, ready-to-eat food and restaurant meals rose 2 percent.
