Mars has collaborated with Standard Cognition to develop autonomous checkouts that will help retailers drive impulse sales.
Standard Cognition will implement technology to drive sales, particularly at the end of the shopping trip when shoppers typically seek products to reward, recharge and remind while waiting in line for a cashier. Mars reached out to the technology company to discover the impact autonomous checkouts has on consumers. The companies worked together to design store ideas that balance operational productivity, customer satisfaction and financial optimisation.
“Standard has been thinking about that issue, too, so the Mars inquiry was very timely,” explained co-founder of Standard Cognition, Michael Suswal. “We leapt at the chance to work with Mars, a category captain with 100 years of insights research and innovation, to help retailers address this challenge.”
Mars and Standard Cognition share the same goal of creating convenient and positive experiences for shoppers that meet retailers’ expectations.
