Deloitte Awards Kiwi Free Range Egg Company

Deloitte has announced its regional category winners and finalists for the Deloitte Fast 50 across New Zealand.

This year’s Fast 50 businesses spanned a range of sectors, reflecting the breadth and strength of New Zealand’s high-growth business ecosystem.

Free-range egg company, eg., has been awarded the Fastest-Growing Food & Beverage Business in Wellington and Lower North Island at the 2026 Deloitte Fast 50 Regional Awards.

Founded in 2021 by Nathan Williams, with the first flock arriving in 2022, eg. began with the idea of lifting industry standards and leading by example when it comes to animal welfare in the egg industry.

Authenticity and transparency are core to eg.’s brand loyalty, predominantly using social media to show real-life proof of how they are leading by example with behind-the-scenes footage and showing their audience inside the farm.

eg., is New Zealand's largest only free-range egg farm, which can produce to scale with zero caged, colony or barn hens under their brand. Their farm is also a unique layout with the chook sheds and ranges laid out in the shape of a sun, with the pack house in the centre, the sheds extending from multiple sides, giving each flock room to roam.

“We are so incredibly humbled and super proud of our team for their outstanding efforts, which have led to this award,” said Williams and partner Elle Henderson.

“We are also proud of what we have created in this region, and to be considered one of the fastest-growing food and beverage businesses already is beyond words.”

Williams and Henderson also thanked Foodstuffs North Island and their loyal customers, who have backed the business’ mission to lead by example and create meaningful change in the egg industry, as well as Deloitte, BNZ and all other sponsors for this award. They look forward to the national results, which will be announced next month.
