Grove Avocado Oil Elects Lain Jager to Board of Directors

Grove Avocado Oil has appointed Lain Jager to serve on the Board of Directors. Jager has extensive experience in the primary industries and food sector, including a nine-year tenure as Chief Executive Officer at kiwifruit marketing giant, Zespri.

Jager’s appointment reflects the company’s strategy for continued growth without reliance on any one market, as Grove deals with an increasingly complex international market in a Covid-19 environment.

James Greenlees, Grove Avocado Oil General Manager, explains that Jager brings a wealth of experience, industry knowledge and strategic thinking to the board.

“Lain was at the helm of Zespri throughout the New Zealand kiwifruit industry’s PSA crisis – steering the business through the impact and recovery stages, resulting in an overall strong outcome for growers. There aren’t a lot of people that bring that depth of experience” James explains.

Lain holds a Masters Degree in Social Science, is involved in a number of investment projects in the agriculture and tourism industries, and sits on various Boards within those industries.

Grove started as part of a local packhouse, utilising avocados that could not be exported or sold locally due to superficial fruit damage. With a world-class production process, ensuring the extracted oil reaches consumers at its purest, Grove soon developed flavoured oils to accompany its 100% virgin cold-pressed offering.

The Grove team is small but mighty, with 15 staff members working hard to export 1.1 million bottles to 14 countries around the globe!
