Nielsen has launched The Liquor Benchmark, a measurement of retail sales of NZ’s largest liquor retailers. Sales data are taken from seven chains.
“Up until this point, liquor suppliers have only been able to share their performance with each retailer individually because of commercial sensitivities,” said Geoff Smith, commercial development retailer, Nielsen. “This meant they could not talk about their performance relative to the total market.”
Similarly to the total sales read provided to supermarkets and convenience stores, The Liquor Benchmark will allow retailers and suppliers to identify new opportunities for growth without disclosing their own individual sales information to competing companies.
