FARRAH’S VENTURES INTO BRAND-NEW CATEGORY

Farrah’s founders and owners, Farrah and Jovan Canak, have officially launched their new Mexican range. During a mouth-watering lunch held at Auckland's Fresh Factory, food bloggers and industry personalities were treated to freshly made Mexican tortillas, prepared by top chef Mark Southon.

It’s an exciting release for Farrah’s, now launching into a brand-new category. But it’s also a return to the roots for the husband-and-wife team. When they first started their business in 1999, Farrah and Jovan ventured to Mexico and the US, looking for the secret to perfect flour, corn tortillas and wraps.

“We had a great time while travelling in Mexico,” Farrah said. “We went to their factories, saw their machinery and ate wonderful street food. It was quite an experience.”
Farrah's has enlisted the help of a Mexican family Jovan and Farrah met by chance in the US and, next week, the company will join other family-owned businesses to become a member of the Tortilla Industry Association.

The new Mexican range is 100 percent NZ-made and includes Farrah’s Flame Baked Tortillas in three variants (Burrito, Taco and Chilli) and Farrah’s Spice Mixes. All mixes are gluten-free and available in three flavours, Nacho Spice Mix, Taco Spice Mix and Burrito Spice Mix.
