LEWIS ROAD CREAMERY WANTS TO TAKE FONTERRA TO COURT

Peter Cullinane

Lewis Road Creamery’s co-founder Peter Cullinane has announced he will take legal action against Fonterra if nothing changes, accusing the dairy giant of trying to gain more than 95 percent of milk fridge space in some North Island stores. Cullinane claimed there had been an alleged arrangement between Fonterra and Foodstuffs, but none of the two companies confirmed it.

Over the past two weeks, Lewis Road has also accused Fonterra of copying its packaging with their new organic brand Kapiti milk.

"The fact is competition is competition," said Cullinane said. “Our only ask is that the competition is fair."
