Proud sponsor of the New Zealand 2016 Olympic Team, Countdown is raffling off four trips for two to the Rio Olympic Games, and announced it will give away $10,000 worth of gold every day, from 8 February to 6 March.
Thanks to the ‘Go for Gold’ Onecard promotion, shoppers will get the chance to win every time they spend $20 in-store or online, getting additional bonus entries for specially marked Olympics products.
“While Olympic athletes, like Countdown Ambassadors Hamish Bond and Eric Murray, train for years for the chance to compete and win gold, we’re giving Kiwis a chance to win gold by simply swiping their Onecard and spending $20,” said Bridget Lamont, general manager marketing, Countdown.
The lucky winners could either claim the prize in cash or receive $10,000 worth of gold bullion, based on its actual market price on the day of the draw, as determined by New Zealand Mint.
“There are many reasons gold makes a worthwhile investment,” said Simon Harding, CEO, New Zealand Mint. “Some investors like the diversification of having physical gold in their portfolio, alongside other investments, while other see gold as a way to preserve wealth over a long period of time.”
